Sports247 reports that Alozie, who also plays at right-back for Nigeria’s women’s national team, Super Falcons, has a Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Yale University and currently combines playing professional football with part-time duties as a cancer reasearch consultant at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, USA.

Her ability to mix school with football and then extend into medical practice while still playing after graduation is now a huge source of inspiration for Edovie, who disclosed that she also wants to study medicine.

The former student of Queens College, Lagos, who sat for the secondary school leaving certificate examination earlier this year, told Sports247 that she hopes to attend either University of Lagos or Delta State University, Abraka to get a medical degree.

The native of Isoko in Delta State, who also cites University of Benin among higher institutions she could go to get her doctor’s degree, thanked her dad for motivating her fully and urging her to take up at least one sporting endeavour during her early years in school.

“I love the style of Alozie as a player and because of her ability to get a degree in medicine. Her achievements have inspired me to combine football with education.

“That’s why I am a science student and I want to study medicine at the university, so that I can be a doctor like her.

“I also like Asisat Oshoala because she has achieved great things in football. Although I am an attacking midfielder and a female player, I also like Mohamned Salah of Liverpool because he is consistent when playing,” said Edovie.

The tall midfielder, who on Saturday emerged as the most disciplined player during the end of year awards presentations at FROLTISH Football Academy in Ijesha Express area of Lagos, concluded by revealing that God is her biggest motivator.
