Mathew Obinna In High Spirit Ahead Of January Commonwealth Boxing Council Title Bout In Ghana…Calls Governor Hope Uzodinma For Support

PBC Commonwealth Champion, Mathew Obinna Joseph has stated that come January in Ghana, he is going to bring down his opponent, to emerge victorious for the Super Middle Weight Commonwealth Boxing Championship, CBC eliminator.

The Wiseman will square off against Agoe Ashong, his opponent, come January 22nd, 2021 to determine who will win the Commonwealth eliminator and go for the Commonwealth Title, come March 6th, 2021.

His Opponent, Agoe Ashong is currently on a streak of 12 matches, undefeated and Matthew Obinna Joseph is also on a tremendous run as well, with 11 straight matches won without a single defeat, which makes the bout an interesting encounter to view.

In an interview with Sports247, Obinna Joseph assured fans and his supporters of victory against his opponent Agoe Ashong, come January 22nd, 2021, as he wants to participate in the Commonwealth title on March 6th, 2021, stating that his aim is to bring his opponent down. He also admitted that the match will be a difficult one regarding the fact that his opponent is 12-0 unbeaten currently, but promises to emerge victorious in Ghana, come 2021.

“I will preparing for the Commonwealth Elimination, super middleweight in Ghana, where I will be fighting, on the 22nd of January and I will like the whole Nigeria to support me, so that I can win the match and go for the main Commonwealth title by March 6th”.

“I know Agoe. He is a very good boxer, he is now 12-0 unbeaten and I am also 11-0 unbeaten. I know it’s going to be a very big fight and a very strong fight because Agogo is a very stubborn boxer, well-experienced boxer, but I know am going to bring him down in his own country”, he said.

While still speaking, Joseph Obinna commended the efforts of Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Hope Uzodimma, for all his supports in sports, he also went further to encourage the Imo State Government to place more support in Boxing, as he intends to bring a shining light to the state through boxing, after a long time.

“My state (Imo State) Governor has been trying in Sports, his Excellency, Honourable Hope Uzodimma. I will also like him to still come down to boxing, to put more support in boxing, because it’s been a long time since Imo State produced a boxing Champion, and now, I am ready to do it again for the Imo Light. So I will like him to come out and at least give me a little support again in this game”, he added.

The Amazing boxer finally stated that he is well prepared to bring the Commonwealth boxing title back to Nigeria.
