Former Super Falcons assistant coach Mansur Abdullahi has expressed confidence in the Nigeria Football Federation’s handling of the Super Falcons’ preparations, despite the cancellation of the WAFU B Women’s tournament that was expected to serve as part of the team’s build-up.

Reacting to concerns around the disruption, Abdullahi insisted that the Nigeria Football Federation understands what works best for the women’s national team and will ensure the players are adequately prepared ahead of upcoming competitions.
“The NFF knows what works best for the Super Falcons,” Abdullahi said. “Even though the WAFU B tournament was cancelled, the team is still in good hands.”
He explained that sourcing alternative friendly matches at this stage of the calendar can be challenging, especially with many national teams already committed to their own schedules.
“It’s not always easy to get quality opponents for friendlies at this time,” he added. “But what matters is that the team remains focused and properly guided.”
Abdullahi also welcomed the swift decision by the federation to line up friendly matches against Cameroon women’s national team, describing the fixtures as a solid test for the Super Falcons.
“Cameroon are a strong and competitive side,” he noted. “Those games will give the Falcons the right level of challenge as they prepare to defend their title.”
The Super Falcons are gearing up for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they will aim to maintain their dominance on the continent despite recent adjustments to their preparation plans.
