Majekodunmi satisfied with progress at Ogun FA

The chairman, Ogun State Football Association Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi has expressed satisfaction at the manner which the two major Ogun FA events were concluded in the last couple of weeks.

 

 

The Ogun FA boss who also doubles as an executive board member of the Nigeria Football Federation said his joy knows know bound having recorded another success staging the Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) age grade competition for male and female as well as the Bet9ja Ogun State League.

 

 

He said “Obviously we can always get better, we keep adding vibes and flavour year after year, but is is safe to say we haven’t done badly.

He continued by saying “We all know what it means to catch them young, that’s the only way to lay a solid foundation for the future, particularly with a sport as powerful as Football”.

The NFF board member harped on the need to engage the youth through football, while describing soccer as a veritable tool for curbing social vices in the society.

Alhaji Majekodunmi however confirmed that another developmental tournament tagged Ganiyu Majekodunmi Under 13 and under 15 football competition will come up in December, while appealing to cooperate bodies, individuals, the media and all stakeholders to partner with the Football ruling body in the gateway state and assured intending partners of a value for their resources.

At the end of the 2018 KAAF Under 18 competition, Ijebu Ode football team emerged victorious and won the one million naira prize money plus medals and a giant trophy, the second placed, third and fourth best team received seven hundred and fifty thousand, five hundred thousand and two hundred and fifty thousand naira each.

The winner of the Bet9ja Ogun State League, Sagamu United were rewarded with two hundred and fifty thousand naira prize money for their triumph over Remo Stars youth team in the final, while the second and third placed team were also rewarded.
