Yahaya Ibrahim made a memorable contribution to Kano Pillars’ 1-0 victory over Katsina United in Matchday Nine of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), scoring his first goal for the club and earning the SWAN/Fans Player of the Match award.
The forward found the breakthrough with a powerful finish after connecting with a pass from Rabiu Ali. According to Kano Pillars’ official social media page, Ibrahim raced onto Ali’s through pass before unleashing a fierce shot from a tight angle to secure all three points for the Sai Masu Gida.
The goal marked Ibrahim’s first in Kano Pillars colours and proved decisive in the closely contested encounter, as the club held on to claim victory over their opponents.
His performance was subsequently recognised with the SWAN/Fans Player of the Match award, adding an individual honour to a match-winning display.
For Kano Pillars, the result provided an opportunity to celebrate both the forward’s breakthrough and the impact of Ali’s contribution in creating the decisive chance.
Ibrahim’s award also highlighted the importance of his goal in a match where a single finish separated both sides.
With his first goal now secured and individual recognition following immediately, attention will turn to whether the forward can build on the performance and become a more consistent source of goals for the Kano-based club as the NPFL campaign continues.
