“We appreciate the players for their performance this evening. We’re still putting our finishing touches together—it’s a work in progress,” Madugu said after the match.

The Falcons were dominant throughout the game, showing flashes of what the coaching crew hopes will become a consistent identity for the team. While satisfied with the win, Madugu emphasized the importance of more game time to further shape the team and evaluate players.

“We need more opportunities to play games, not just for the team’s shape but also to give other players the chance to show what they can do. We have a lot of matches ahead and we’re using them to test different strategies,” he added.

Madugu noted that fans’ expectations are high, and rightly so, but maintained that the team is committed to meeting and exceeding those demands through hard work and tactical discipline. “Each time the Super Falcons play, we know what the fans expect—we must not lower that bar.”

“Every match starts with a game plan, but changes often happen depending on the pattern of play. Our goal is to allow the players to enjoy their football while staying tactically aware. Fortunately, we have a group that can adapt to different styles,” he said.

In a strong show of support for domestic talent, the coach also reiterated that home-based players are fully part of the national team project. “There are no limitations for home-based players—they’re just as involved in our plans and can play any system we set out with.”

Addressing the cancellation of a prior friendly fixture, Madugu clarified that it had no impact on the team’s performance or mentality. “The canceled game didn’t affect us. We stayed focused, and the result speaks for itself.”

As the Super Falcons continue preparations for upcoming fixtures, the coaching crew remains focused on building depth, flexibility, and a winning culture rooted in consistency and opportunity.
