The competition begins on Monday, October 12, and runs until October 17, bringing together promising Under-12 players for an international team tennis challenge.
Rasaki earned her place in the African contingent following a series of impressive performances in junior tennis, including Nigeria’s triumph at the West African Under-12 level alongside Dabira Oluwaseyi and Chisimdi Afam-Mbonu.

The 12-year-old, who represents Oyo State, now faces a different challenge as she steps onto the international stage to compete against players with different playing styles and backgrounds.

Her selection by the Confederation of African Tennis represents an important milestone in her development, providing an opportunity to test her skills beyond regional competition.

Sports247 reports that Rasaki’s journey to Kazakhstan follows Nigeria’s success in the West African Under-12 competition, where the young team secured qualification for the African Junior Tennis Championship.

That achievement helped place Rasaki among the emerging talents to watch in Nigerian junior tennis, and her participation in Shymkent provides another opportunity to gain valuable international experience.

The competition is also an opportunity for African players to measure themselves against their counterparts from other regions, with the experience potentially helping them develop greater confidence and improve their competitive approach.

For Rasaki, the immediate task will be to settle into the competition, adapt to her opponents and make the most of the opportunity to represent her continent.

Her progress also highlights the importance of exposing young Nigerian athletes to international competitions at an early stage of their careers.

Although the tournament represents another step in her development, Rasaki will be eager to make her presence felt and contribute to Africa’s campaign.

With the competition now underway, attention will turn to how the young Nigerian performs against international opposition as she continues her journey in junior tennis.
