Lobi Stars End Doma United’s Unbeaten Run With 2-1 Victory, Maintain Perfect Home Record

In a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter, Lobi Stars emerged victorious against Doma United, ending the latter’s impressive 11-match unbeaten run.

Stanley Oganbor and second-half substitute Suleiman Mojereola were the heroes for Lobi Stars, securing a 2-1 win at the Lafia City Stadium.

Coach Eugene Agagbe’s men wasted no time making an impact, breaking the deadlock in the 4th minute through Stanley Oganbor.

The forward capitalized on a well-tailored cross from Adebayo Waheed, putting an end to Doma United goalkeeper Kingdom Osayi’s nine-match clean sheet record. Despite subsequent scoring chances, Lobi Stars maintained a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Returning for the second half, Coach Agagbe made tactical substitutions, introducing Suleiman Mojereola and Adewale Yusuf.

Mojereola justified the decision by scoring his first-ever league goal with a sublime curve in the 79th minute, extending Lobi Stars’ lead to 2-0.

While Lobi Stars looked poised for a comfortable victory, Doma United’s substitute Samuel Enefiok managed to pull one back in additional time, securing a consolation goal for the visitors.

In his post-match reaction, Coach Agagbe praised his players for their zeal and performance, highlighting the challenging nature of Lafia City Stadium for opposing teams. He expressed confidence in his team’s ability to dominate at home.

With this crucial victory, Lobi Stars now have 26 points from 14 matches, placing them at the joint summit of the league alongside Remo Stars. Remo Stars, with a superior goal difference, currently hold the top position.
