Leo Coach Commends Eletu Academy For Good Performance

Head coach of Leo Football Academy of Ikorodu, Wewe Ademola Yemi has confessed that Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy’s victory over his team was well deserved.

Yemi disclosed this after his team were battered 1-4 to Prince Kazeem Eletu Academy in a friendly match played recently at the Eagles Club, Surulere, Lagos.

In a chat with our correspondent, Yemi said his team gave a good account of themselves but admitted that they lost concentration in the second half. He also attributed their loss as a result of the absence of key players in his team and congratulated their opponents for the job well done.

“We played against a formidable and good side who were better on the field. Although I did not come with some of our key players to play this friendly match. My boys tried their best but their best was not enough to get the victory. Prince Kazeem Eletu are equally a good side, very balanced team and they deserved the victory. I congratulate their coaching crew for the job well done,” he said.

Balogun Habeeb opened the goal account for Eletu boys in the early game as Igwe David made their second goal in the 32nd minute. Leo Academy who gave a good account of themselves quickly reduced the tally through John Arowopeyin before halftime.

Eletu boys who were created more scoring chances than their opponents extended their lead in the second half as Raphel Tofogi scored two goals to confirm their supremacy over their opponents.

In his own remark, Eletu Academy coach, Oluwadamilola Idowu said he was satisfied with the team’s performance not the result. He said the players up their game and played purposeful football.

“It was not a bad match for us. What I saw in the match was a clear indication that my boys played to instructions. By and large, I still need to work on some grey areas where I feel it is necessary. I am not looking at results but I am focusing on the development of the players,” he said.
