League Followers Demand Suspension of Pius Henwan, Samson Longbap, others from Nigerian Football

I write to convey a goodwill message of League Followers of Nigeria to the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and League Management Company, LMC for breaking all barriers and start the Nigerian Professional Football League matches as scheduled in spite of little hiccups.

Our huge and deep thumps up goes to the leadership of Nigerian Referee Association for the impressive performance of their members recording two away matches and a home draw in six of the Match Day one of Nigeria Professional Football League. This is a good start and we hope they will improve on the previous. Big kudos!

Attention of the league Followers of Nigeria has been drawn to the pocket of skirmishes recorded in Plateau state between Plateau United and FC Ifeanyi Ubah on match Day one of NPFL where a centre Referee, Mr Sam Agba was beaten by irate fans. The lovers of Naija made league feel it’s becoming too many of Plateau United causing mayhem against the visiting teams and officials at almost every season.

It was on record that a similar scenario happened last season In this venue while it was also reported that a journalist was harrassed, beaten blue and black by suspected Henwan’s boys in this state a situation that later got to the police station for settlement. In fact, it was highly demeaning and embarrassing to Nigerian football fraternity at the time.

We therefore advise the leadership of NRA to stop honouring league matches in volatile venues including Plateau state for the rest of this season so as to serve as signal to other league venues

We would also like to use this medium to charge the NFF and LMC to investigate and descend heavily on erring fans, State F.A Chairman be punished for failing to provide ample security for the officials, while Chairman of Plateau United, Chief Pius Henwan should be suspended from every football activities for the rest of this season

While commending the NFF and LMC for starting the league this January in spite of minor hiccups, we would suggest that Plateau United be banished to South Western part of the country to enable them educate their fans to avoid loss of lives

Enough of this babaristic and unsportsmanlike nature of these Club Owners as we can’t continue to put the life of our abiters in danger and expect them to perform optimally.
