Onuachu’s invitation is currently pending approval from his Turkish club, Trabzonspor. The striker, who has been in stellar form, scoring nine goals and contributing three assists in 15 appearances for Trabzonspor this season, is expected to bring his goal-scoring prowess to the Super Eagles’ campaign in the AFCON.

The decision to bring in Onuachu comes after the unfortunate injury to Umar Sadiq, and it underlines the challenges that national teams face in managing their squads for major tournaments.

Coaches must adapt quickly to unforeseen circumstances, ensuring they have a well-balanced and competitive team throughout the competition.

The addition of Paul Onuachu not only addresses the setback caused by Umar Sadiq’s injury but also enhances the squad’s depth and versatility.

Onuachu’s goal-scoring ability and experience will be crucial as Nigeria aims for success in the prestigious AFCON tournament.

However, the Super Eagles have faced a series of setbacks with injuries to key players such as Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Boniface.

Despite these challenges, the team remains determined and focused on putting up a strong performance in the upcoming tournament.
