Nigeria Women, also known as the Female YellowGreens, struggled with the bat after opting to set a target.
They were bowled out for 90 runs in 19.1 overs, failing to build lasting partnerships against a disciplined Rwandan attack.
In response, Rwanda Women produced a confident chase, reaching 93 for 4 in just 15.4 overs to seal a six-wicket victory.
Their composed batting display ensured they comfortably surpassed the target with plenty of deliveries to spare.
In the other fixture,
South Africa U-19 Women showcased their quality with both bat and ball against Zimbabwe U-19 Women.
The young Proteas posted an impressive total of 145 for 7 in their 20 overs, setting a challenging target.
Zimbabwe U-19 Women fought hard in reply but were restricted to 117 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs, handing South Africa a convincing 28-run victory.
The results underline Rwanda’s growing presence in women’s cricket and South Africa’s depth at youth level, while Nigeria will look to regroup and bounce back in subsequent matches of the tournament.
