Lagos FA Boss, Ex International Rate U-13 JOF Cup Final High

Some of the football stakeholders who witnessed the 4th editions of U-13 JOF Cup Final have expressed satisfaction with the standard and organization of the competition.

The U-13 JOF Cup final held yesterday at the Campos sports center, Lagos Island.

In the final match watched by mammoth crowd, Wasbak Babes defeated Zamadek 1-0 to emerge as champions, while Ojo Babes also humbled Qudus Babes 2-0 to win a third place match.

Speaking after the final, vice chairman of Lagos State Football Association LSFA, Alhaji Olawale Liammed Gafar said he was impressed with the standard and quality of the game saying that both teams played good football but the better side carried the day.

“It was a good final and the two teams played a good football throughout the game.Of course the standard of the game is quite impressive. Let me say I have identified some talents in both teams and when the time comes the Lagos FA would still need the service of those players.

“On our own part, we would continue to support grassroots football and youths development in the state and create a platform where young footballers would exhibit their skills “he said.

Gafar also commended the cup donor, who double as Chairman JOF Nigeria Limited, Chief Olusegun Olugboyegun for his commitment to the grassroots football and urged the other corporate bodies to follow suit.

Waidi Akanni, one of the ex internationals also commended the finalists for the job well done and congratulated the JOF Nigeria Limited on the success of the tournament.

He said the ex internationals would continue to support grassroots football development and urged the football organisers to always invite ex internationals to their programmes.

While Wasiu Ipaye said he was quite impressive with the turnout of thr5 match despite the heavy down poir5 on Lagos Island.

He disclosed that the two finalists played well and particularly commended the champions for winning the trophy.

The cup donor, Olugboyegun was also excited about the success of the closing ceremony and noted that this year’s edition is quite remarkable one in area of organization, standard of play by the both teams and attendance of the spectators.

He however congratulated the finalists for their brilliant performance and called for support of Lagos FA and other football stakeholders in the next edition.
