Ladan Bosso Seeks Second Term As President Of Nigeria Football Coaches Association In Upcoming Election

Ladan Bosso, the current head coach of the Flying Eagles, is seeking re-election as the
president of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association.

The election is scheduled to take place on June 18 in Abuja, and Bosso may return unopposed as no other candidate has expressed interest in contesting the presidency. With less than two weeks remaining until the election, it appears that Bosso’s position is secure.

To oversee the electoral process, a five-member committee has been established.
Mohammed Manzo serves as the committee’s chairman, while Alphonsus Dike acts as the
secretary. This committee has begun the sale of nomination forms for the various positions within the coaching body.

The cost of the nomination forms varies depending on the position being sought. The form
for the presidency is priced at N70,000, while other positions such as Vice President,
Secretary General, and Training Officer are available for N50,000 each. Positions such as
Treasurer, Financial Secretary, PRO, Auditor, Assistant Training Officer, and Provost have
nomination forms priced at N30,000 each.

As it stands, Bosso’s bid for re-election seems unchallenged. This could be attributed to his recent achievement of leading the Flying Eagles to the quarterfinals of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina. The success of the team under his guidance likely bolsters his reputation and support within the coaching community.

If Bosso is re-elected, it would mark another term in office for him as the president of the
Nigeria Football Coaches Association. His tenure has been marked by efforts to improve the standards and welfare of football coaches in the country. With his experience and
accomplishments, Bosso aims to continue leading the association and working towards the betterment of Nigerian football coaching.

However, the absence of other candidates vying for the presidency raises questions about
the level of participation and interest within the coaching body. It remains to be seen whether this indicates overwhelming support for Bosso or a lack of engagement from potential contenders. Nonetheless, the upcoming election will determine whether Bosso will secure another term as the president of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association
