Ten months after lifting the prestigious President Federation Cup, Kwara United Football Club have yet to receive the ₦50 million prize money attached to their historic victory.

The Ilorin-based side clinched their first-ever Federation Cup title after defeating Abakaliki FC on penalties following a goalless draw in the final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos. The triumph was widely celebrated as a landmark achievement for the club.

However, nearly a year after that success, the financial reward remains unpaid.

A reliable source close to the club disclosed that officials have repeatedly contacted the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the delay, but no clear explanation has been provided.

“Kwara United haven’t received their President Federation Cup prize money. We’ve asked NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, about it, and he hasn’t given any reason why the club hasn’t received the money,” the source said.

The prolonged delay raises concerns about administrative efficiency and financial accountability, especially in a competition regarded as one of the most prestigious in Nigerian football.
