Titiloye emphasized that providing better pitches is crucial to enhancing the prospects of Nigerian teams in continental competitions, particularly those organized by CAF.

Speaking to the press in Ilorin, Titiloye highlighted the significance of top-notch playing surfaces in boosting the success rates of Nigerian clubs on the continental stage.

He noted that despite the undeniable talent and technical prowess possessed by Nigerian players and coaches, the inadequate state of local pitches hampers their preparation and performance in continental tournaments.

Titiloye expressed his personal opinion, stating, “In terms of talents and technicalities, Nigerian players and coaches have no rival in Africa.

But most of our pitches don’t prepare us for continental duels.

The players are not used to them. We need to step up and do the needful in this area.”

Reflecting on the previous football season, the KWUFC boss acknowledged that several variables had impacted the fortunes of his club. He assured that the upcoming season holds greater promise for the team’s success.

Detailing the challenges faced, Titiloye mentioned that the renovation of their stadium forced the club to play away from Ilorin, leading to a loss of advantages.

Despite the setbacks, he emphasized that with the team’s return to Ilorin, they should be considered a formidable force in the new season and beyond.

Titiloye applauded the financial support provided by the state Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazak, while urging continued financial assistance for the club, considering the prevailing economic challenges.

In preparation for the upcoming season, Titiloye revealed that the team has recruited 16 players, including one from Sierra Leone, to bolster their squad.

He also affirmed that there are no immediate plans to alter the coaching staff.

Titiloye extended gratitude to the football enthusiasts in Akure, Ondo State, where most of Kwara United’s matches were played last season, for their unwavering support.

He commended the Ondo State Football Association Chairman and Secretary for their dedicated support in ensuring a seamless experience for the team during their time in Akure.
