The Maiden edition of Kogi Youth Cup Football Competition for teams in the Confluence State will officially gets underway on 12th January 2023 at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium
A statement from the Stable of the Organizers made available to Sport Writers by the Spokesman of the Organizers, Haruna Salihu said Lokoja Confluence Stadium will play host to the Six(6) teams registered to participate in the Competition which is Sponsored by Majesty International College.
Haruna Salihu said the Competition is aimed at helping young talented footballers to develop their talents and become better citizens of the Society.
” Since government has done exceedingly well for Sports development in the state, there’s the need for the private sector to also complement government’s effort in arresting youth restiveness by engaging them positively ”
” There’s also the need to passionately redirect the minds of the youths away from Unproductive attitudes and channel them into viable and profitable ventures.This is what informed the floating of this tournament which will help to discover hidden talents,harness them and give them a platform ands opportunity to thrive ”
As part of efforts to make the maiden edition unique and more glamorous,Haruna Salihu said Scouts from outside the state will be available to pick those who will distinguish themselves during the Competition and will be encouraged to take their God given talents to another greater level.
According to the Organizers,Six(6) teams from across the State have registered to participate in the Competition,these include Kogi United Feeders,Igala United Kabba United,FMC Fc,Tiyu Football Academy,and Zulu Fc
