Enyimba FC Chairman, Ambassador Nwankwo Kanu, has thrown down the gauntlet to the club’s new signings, challenging them to reignite the People’s Elephant’s dominance on both the domestic and continental fronts.
In a morale-boosting meeting with the fresh arrivals, Kanu emphasized the need for professionalism, unity, and a winning mentality as the team prepares for the 2025/26 campaign.

He reminded them of the weight of the club’s legacy and urged them to seize the opportunity to bring joy back to the fans.
“We came close last season, but close is not enough. This is a new chance to deliver happiness to Aba and beyond,” the former Super Eagles captain said.
With Enyimba set to participate in the high-profile Eko International Preseason Cup starting July 6, Kanu described the tournament as more than just warm-up games. “It’s a litmus test for our league goals and a dress rehearsal for our return to continental football,” he noted.
The tournament, which will feature powerhouses from West and Southern Africa — including 3SC, Remo Stars, Accra Hearts of Oak, SuperSport United, Ikorodu City, and Kalon Stars FC — will give Enyimba a valuable platform to assess tactical readiness and integrate new talents under competitive conditions.
Kanu’s rallying call signals a no-nonsense approach as Enyimba aims to reclaim the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title and reignite their once-feared reputation across the African continent.
With pressure mounting and expectations high, the mission is clear for the eight-time Nigerian champions: dominate the NPFL, shine in Africa, and restore the pride of Aba.
