Kano Pillars Star Seeks More Basketball Projects

Kano Pillars Basketball Club star, Abdul Yahaya has forwarded a situation whereby all clubs in the Nigeria Premier Basketball League float youth teams and projects to help cement a solid future for the game.

Yahaya opined in an interview with sports247.ng that the Nigerian slam-league is running short of young potentials and quality players because a regular system for churning out talents is not in place.

The Pillars star, however, stressed that the solution is not be far-fetched, as the national team, D’Tigers veteran advocates youth basketball clinics and projects on a regular bases across the country.

Yahaya told sports247.ng: “More basketball developmental clubs should be encouraged to step out and keep doing talent hunt projects.

“Take the example of our former captain in D’Tigers, Olumide Oyedeji’s Hoops and Read. We need more of such projects in the country.”
