Kalu To Join Eagles’ Final Training Behind Closed Doors

Girondins-Bordeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu will be part of the Super Eagles final training in Asaba behind closed doors on Thursday morning, after finally arriving at the camp late Wednesday.

 

Kalu will hope to impress from the word go, as he has limited time to prove himself, before the team embark on their flight to South Africa later in the day, according to information reaching Sports247.ng.

On arrival in The Rainbow Nation, the Eagles are expected to train the following morning at a nearby pitch in Soweto, before having a feel of FNB Stadium pitch at match kick-off time, which is 2pm in Nigeria.

Kalu’s arrival means Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr now has the full complement of all invited players for the games against South Africa and Uganda in the month of November precisely 17th and 20th respectively.

Visa hitches delayed the arrival of Kalu, who already has three caps and a goal for Nigeria, after making his debut in the Eagles’ 3-0 AFCON 2019 qualifiers ‎victory over Seychelles.

A wing forward is tipped to take the vacuum created by the retirement of Victor Moses, but he will have to compete for spots on the wings alongside Henry Onyekuru, Moses Simon, Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze.
