Indian’s Kaliyanda Poonacha has charged Nigerian players to use their physical strength and build to their advantage after beating Nigeria’s supposed number 1 ranked player Sylvester Emmanuel in the second leg of the Futures 5 at the ongoing ITF Lagos Open Tennis championship.

Poonacha says Nigerian players also suffer inconsistency in their game.

He urged them to play more games and be trained by sound coaches so as to better their lot.

“Nigerian players have this African physical strength in them, tennis is more than just power but techniques and skills,” he stated in a chat with Sports247.ng.

“This physicality ingredient should be worked upon by Nigerian players. They will get better in their career.”

“Consistency is very important if tennis players must improve in their output.”

“With quality coaching and facilities, Nigerian players will become world beaters.”
