Jordan Torunarigha Opens Up About Switching Allegiance To Nigeria For Super Eagles Debut

In a significant development for Nigerian football, Jordan Torunarigha, one of the latest invitees to the Super Eagles squad, has shed light on the reasons behind his decision to switch his international allegiance from Germany to Nigeria.

Torunarigha, alongside Gift Orban and Victor Boniface, is set to make his debut for the Super Eagles under the leadership of Jose Peseiro, in the upcoming clash against Sao Tome.

In an exclusive interview with NFF TV, the KAA Gent defender expressed his eagerness to prove his worth to both the team and fans. He addressed the criticism he had faced for his prior decision to represent Germany and highlighted his determination to showcase his talents in the green and white jersey of Nigeria.

“It is nice to meet the players, and I think all of them are nice people. It is also nice to train with big players like Osimhen and Chukwueze,” Torunarigha commented during the interview.

Furthermore, he acknowledged the invaluable guidance and support received from seasoned Super Eagles players like Captain Troost-Ekong and Collins in finding his place within the squad. Jordan Torunarigha, who is making his debut call-up, expressed his hope of being granted playing time to demonstrate his capabilities.

“I am a young guy, and I want to show Nigerians what I can offer,” he affirmed.

It’s worth noting that Jordan Torunarigha had previously represented Germany at all youth levels and was even part of the German team that competed in the last Olympic Games held in Tokyo, Japan.
