Iwobi Feels Deep Sympathy For Welbeck

Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi has expressed a deep feeling of sympathy for his teammate, Danny Welbeckk, who got a serious injury during Europa League action on Thursday.

Iwobi admitted Welbeck’s injury was a sour grape, after The Gunners’ were held to a goalless draw by Sporting Lisbon of Portugal.

Despite the goalless draw, Arsenal qualified for the knockout rounds, but Iwobi was gutted that Welbeck was stretchered off in agony after half an hour and had to receive oxygen on the pitch.

Welbeck, who was rushed to hospital immediately, now faces another spell on the sidelines and has wished the attacker a swift recovery, all to Iwobi’s dismay.

Iwobi lamented: ”It’s very challenging mentally, but sometimes it comes in the game.

”Both sets of teams were mentally challenged and we were able to continue with the game.

“There’s been a lot of injuries, and unfortunately for Danny he’s had a few so we’re going to wish him the best.
“We wish him all the best and we will keep on encouraging and motivating him to get back. ”
