Italy-based Youngster Unveils Awosanmi Cup 2018

An Italy-based Nigerian youngster, Emmanuel Olakunle Awosanmi (aka Choco Choco) has set plans in motion to organise a community and youth football competition in the coming weeks.

Coordinator of the competition, Oscar Ezinwa Emmanuel said the draw ceremony will hold Saturday, 10th November at Bishop Agggey High School, Mushin, Lagos.

Emmanuel, who is also secretary of Nigerian Grassroots Football Federation (NGFF), said the draws, which are billed to commence at 10am, will involve all teams that have registered for the competition and others who are still willing to do so.

The man fondly called ‘TM’ added that ‘Awo Cup 2018’ will be staged under auspices of his independent promotions outfit, Pison Divine Royals Sports International, which runs youth football clubs, organizes events and publishes a magazine.

Emmanuel told sports247.ng on Thursday: “We are putting heads together to organise a football competition for Kunle Adesanmiu.

“The competition is meant to help him put something back into the community that produced him.

“He actually grew up in Mushin area of Lagos, and was quite popular while playing on the pitch of Eko Boys High School.

“He has now remembered his roots, and I am personally happy to be involved in helping him put this competition together.”
