Immediate past President of Island All-Stars Sports Club, Ikenna Maduagwu has commended the executives and Sports Management Committee of the club for sustaining the PatrickLingo Super League and maintaining the standards established over the years.
Anagbemba spoke in an exclusive SPORTS247 interview during the ongoing Island All-Stars PatrickLingo Super League at the Lagos Business School, where he praised the tournament as an outstanding example of creativity, innovation and continuity.
The former president first congratulated the club’s leadership and members of the Sports Management Committee for their commitment to the development and successful organisation of the competition.
“I would like to commend the executives for sustaining this tournament and maintaining the standards they have set over the years. I would also like to congratulate the hardworking members of the Island All-Stars Sports Management Committee,” Ikenna said.
According to him, the tournament represents more than just a football competition, describing it as an initiative that reflects the values and culture of Island All-Stars Sports Club.
“Life is all about creativity and innovation, and this tournament is a perfect example of both. It is an initiative of Patrick Lingo, a member of Island All-Stars, and reflects the values we uphold as a club,” he added.
Ikenna also highlighted the broader purpose of Island All-Stars, stressing that the club provides members with opportunities to establish meaningful relationships while creating platforms for personal and business development.
“Island All-Stars is a platform where members can network, grow their businesses, build friendships, meet new people and establish valuable connections for the future,” he explained.
He noted that the PatrickLingo Super League has continued to demonstrate the club’s ability to transform ideas into sustainable initiatives, while also bringing members together through sport and social interaction.
Reflecting on the progress of the tournament, the immediate past president acknowledged the impressive work being done by the organisers but stressed that sustainability should remain a major priority.
“So far, the club has done remarkably well in organising the tournament. What matters most to me is the ability to sustain it over the years without compromising the standards already established. That is something I hold in high regard,” he stated.
His comments underline the importance of continuity as the PatrickLingo Super League continues to grow as one of Island All-Stars Sports Club’s major sporting and networking initiatives.
Beyond the results on the pitch, the competition continues to provide an avenue for members to interact, strengthen friendships, promote businesses and build lasting connections.
For Ikenna, the success of the PatrickLingo Super League will ultimately be measured not only by its immediate impact, but by the ability of successive executives and organisers to preserve its quality, creativity and standards for years to come.
