Investment In Under Age Grassroots Competitions, The Surest Way To The Game’s Growth – Bamidele Yusuf

Former Jazzy Stars Football Academy player, Bamidele Isa Yusuf has given kudos to organizers of grassroots age-grades football competition.

Bamidele Yusuf, who now plies his trade with Slovakia Premier league side, Spartak Trnava, said this after his team recorded their heaviest away win over the weekend in more than three years.

Dele Iheanacho, as he’s fondly called by his colleagues in Jazzy Stars before his move abroad, said different under-age competitions entered into by Jazzy Stars FA gave him the edge when he moved to Lagos and before two get himself playing in an elite league here in Slovakia.

In his words “I must commend the owner of Jazzy Stars Football Academy of Jos, Sammy Adesoji for giving serious importance into under age competitions for Jazzy Stars both home and outside. He registered us to play in Under-10, Under-13, Under-15, Under-16, and Under-18. I didn’t even play d under-16 and 18 competitions before I was moved to the senior team of the Galaxies which is the Under-19 team.”

According to him, “The people that organize and sponsor under age competitions at the grassroots level are some of the great promoters and developers of the players and the game. Am not surprised that all Jazzy Stars in different age categories are at the quarter-finals of different competitions. It’s in the blood of the team.”

Bamidele Isa Yusuf scored the second goal, to get his third goal this season and also gave an assist to the Brazilian, Saymon Cabral, who netted a brace in the match that ended Sered FC the host 2 Bamidele Yusuf’s Spartak Trnava 6.

Spartak Trnava, who were beaten 0-2 at home in the first round by Sered FC, now occupy 5th position with 23pts from 16 matches played after that 6-2 win. Slovan Bratislava still sits at the top with 38 points from 16 matches played.
