Ikeja DFA Super League: Mighty Sparrow Secure First Win After Playing Seven Matches

After their poor run in the ongoing Ikeja Divisional Football Super League. Mighty Sparrow recently secured a maximum three-point following their away 1-0 victory against Fut-Pro Sports in the week eight of the League.

Mighty Sparrow who started their campaign on a poor note defeated Fut- Pro Sports FC 2-1 in their away game.

In the last seven matches, Mighty Sparrow were beaten home and away but it was a relief for the team when they secured a maximum point against their opponents.

Mighty Sparrow coach, Sunday Gbadebo told our correspondent that his players needed to be motivated and disciplined if they want to get out of relegation.

He explained further that the morale of the players are low and noted that if the team are well-motivated things would change for the better.

“We are in a difficult situation but we can still get back out of relegation. I am happy that we won our first game and we are looking forward to our subsequent matches. I congratulate my boys for this victory and I wish to get a good result in our next home match,” he said.

In other results released by the organizers, Smart City walloped Greater Tomorrow 3-0,89 FC played 0-0 with Flexy Soccer Club, Crowned FC suffered 0-4 to Kotech FC, Legacy beat Recovery House 3-2, Ante Inter lost 0-4 to Crowned Academy as NAFRC suffered 1-2 to YG Academy.
