Iheanacho stars for Leicester City in Europa League win over SC Braga

Kelechi Iheanacho was the star of the show for Leicester City last night as his brace and assist led them to a 4:0 victory over Portuguese side SC Braga.

The Super Eagles forward was given the nod in attack for the Foxes and continued his rich vein of form in the Europa League. He opened the scoring at the King Power Stadium in the 21st minute after being set up by James Maddison.

Iheanacho controlled a long throw-in on the edge of Braga’s 18-yard box before passing to Maddison. He made his way into the box and received a return pass before finishing.

Iheanacho got his second of the night after his shot from outside the box took a deflection to find its way into the back of the net to put Leicester 2:0 ahead in the 48th. He turned provider in the 67th minute by supplying the final pass for Dennis Praet to struck home and give the English club a 3:0 lead.

He was booked a couple of minutes later for a bookable offence and was withdrawn for Ayoze Perez shortly after. The Spaniard will go on to register an assist to his name by creating the goal for Maddison to round up an impressive night for Leicester.

Kelechi Iheanacho now boasts 4 goals and 2 assists from two Europa League starts after his earlier brace and assist from the first group game against Zorya Luhansk. Leicester City meanwhile tops Group G with 9 points after three consecutive wins.
