Ighalo dedicates first United goal to late sister …Promises to do so till he ends his career

Manchester United Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo paid a touching tribute to his late sister after scoring his first Manchester United goal on Thursday night against Belgian giants, Club Brugge in the Europa League return leg at Old Trafford.

The striker lifted his jersey to show a white top with a picture of Mary Atole on it during the Europa League game marking his first start for the club since joining on loan after three substitute appearances.

Ighalo has previously told how he still struggles to come to terms with her death in December having suddenly slumped in her house in Canada.

” My twin sister misses her a lot, so do I. Her death still baffles me and makes me cry anytime am alone, I will dedicate all my goals to her until the end of my career”, Ighalo vowed.

The deceased was an avid supporter of the Manchester Club and a picture of her in the team’s jersey hung on the wall of Atole’s home before her sudden death in Canada.
