Ibe Agu Cherishes Invitation To D’Tigers

Gombe Bulls Basketball Club forward, Ibe Abuchi Agu has stated delight with his invitation to the Nigerian men’s national team, D’Tigers, ahead of their outing at the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

 

 

Sports247.ng gathered that, after confirming his call-up to the team for the final round of the qualifiers in the Ivorien capital later this month, Agu says he is happy with the development and vowed to give his best.

 

Agu, who was named most valuable player at Kwese Premier Basketball League final-eight in Kano, acknowledged that his invitation came sequel to his efforts in leading his club to the league title.

 

Indeed, Gombe Bulls snatch their first ever national championship gong by beating Kwara Falcons in the final, with Agu playing a pivotal role all through, all of which he is happy have earned him a spot with D’Tigers.

He went on to note the role God has played in making things fall into pleasant places on his behalf, and advocated for other players the need to allow divine guidance rule their efforts in the game.

Agu added: ”I feel great and it has always been my dream to play for my country at any time I get the opportunity.

“I’ve always believed in myself and what I can do with the ball. I would say it came at the right time because it is God’s time.

“Hard work will always lead you to your dreams that’s what I’ve always believed as a basketball player and never let God out off your way.”
