“I Told Them During The Break That We were Going Go Score,” Remo Stars Captain Nduka Junior

Remo Stars FC of Ikenne played out a 1-1 draw against ASFAR FC of Morocco in Rabat in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup Preliminary game to take a huge advantage into the break.

The home side went into the lead in the 27th minutes courtesy a header from Diney in front of a massive home crowd after numerous chances were squandered by Remo Stars going into the break.

“We had our chances in the first half but we didn’t take it but I told them during the break that we were going to score and I believed just like the preseason game, even if it’s 3 minutes left, we must keep knocking and the door will definitely open and we took the chance when it came,” Remo Stars captain Nduka Junior told Sports247 as regards his half time team talk.

“No matter what happens on the field, if we score first or not, we must never give up or stop until it’s over. We must keep knocking the door until it’s open,” he added.

The reverse fixture will be played on Sunday 18th, September 2022 and Nduka Junior believes the game is not over.

“I know it’s not over and we have the return leg at home in Ikenne. They will want to come out we know how to play in our home and we know how to play on the turf and it’s an opportunity for us to take our advantage. It was a different experience (in Morocco), the fans were really supportive and the game was intense,” he concluded.
