Competing in the women’s triple jump final, the Illinois junior built momentum impressively through the rounds, steadily improving before unleashing her biggest leap of the day in the later stages of the competition.

The 13.38m effort secured her second place overall and now ranks third in the NCAA and Division I for the 2026 indoor season.

Honesty finished narrowly behind her Illinois teammate Romi Tamir, who claimed victory with a 13.50m jump, while Katharina Graman completed the podium.

The one-two finish further underlined Illinois’ dominance in the event on the day.

Beyond the podium finish, Honesty’s performance carried bigger implications.

The Nigerian jumper’s new personal best represents a major breakthrough and firmly positions her among the NCAA’s elite as the indoor season gathers pace.

With consistency, confidence, and a rapidly rising national ranking, Mercy Honesty’s latest outing stands as a clear statement of intent—she is not just competing at the top level, she is now a genuine contender on the NCAA triple jump scene.
