Nigerian hip-hop star Vector paid a motivational visit to Shooting Stars Sports Club during their training session as they gear up for a crucial South-West derby against Remo Stars this weekend in Ikenne.
The visit comes at a pivotal moment in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, with Shooting Stars pushing for their best possible finish and still harbouring hopes of sneaking into continental qualification spots.
On the other hand, Remo Stars are battling to secure vital points to strengthen their position and maintain their top-flight status.
Speaking after the session, the club’s Sporting Director, Tobi Adepoju, expressed delight over the rapper’s presence, highlighting the importance of cross-industry support.
“Yesterday, during our training session, one of my favourites, Vector, visited us.”
” At Shooting Stars, we hold the prestige of being one of the biggest clubs in Nigeria, and it’s expected of us to associate with all industries,” Adepoju said.
He added that the visit was timely as the team intensifies preparations for the high-stakes derby, noting that Vector’s words served as a morale boost for the players.
Vector was warmly received by the club’s Executive Chairman, Taiwo Lekan Salami, and took time to address the squad, urging them to give their all in the upcoming encounter.
The South-West derby has historically been competitive, with Remo Stars holding a slight edge in head-to-head meetings.
However, Shooting Stars claimed a narrow 1-0 victory in their most recent clash in December 2025, setting the stage for another tightly contested battle.
With both teams driven by contrasting ambitions, this weekend’s fixture promises intensity, pride, and high stakes as regional rivals collide once again.
