Glory Ogbonna in action

Following the announcement of the NWFL restart on February 10th, Edo Queens Fc Captain, Glory Ogbonna has admitted that with hard work and playing to their coach’s instructions, victory is assured against Nasarawa Amazons in Match week 5.

Reacting with Sports 247 after the huge announcement by Aisha Falode, Chairperson of the League, on the NWFL restarting on February 10th after the Covid 19 break, the amazing Captain expressed her happiness towards the restart of the League, stating that she and her teammates have been training even during the break. She also commended their match week 5 opponents, Nasarawa United, classifying them as a very good side, but she believes that with Hardwork and playing to their coach’s instructions, victory is guaranteed against the Northern-based side.

“I am very happy that the League is back, after the Covid 19 break. We all have been waiting for the League to resume and now we are happy”.

“Ever since the League has been on break, we have not relaxed, we have been training and preparing as a team, knowing the task ahead and what is at stake”.

“Concerning our game at home against Nasarawa Amazons, they (Nasarawa Amazons) are a good side and we also are a good side. So it is going to be like an ‘EL CLASSICO’ and a good game which everybody will love to watch”.

“But I believe that with hard work and playing to our coach’s instructions, we should have the day against Nasarawa Amazons. We can’t just wait to play that game, because as a player, it is always a dream to play every match, train with your team and execute all that you have learned in the training on the field of play. So we just can’t wait to play them, because we are always prepared and ready”, she added.

Glory Ogbonna will hope to lead her team to success at the end of this NWFL campaign, as they aim to qualify for the CAF Championship.
