Handball Federation President Jibril Saidu Ojih Commends Impact Of North Central Zone 4×4 Championship Qualifiers

Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) president, Jibril Saidu Ojih has commended all participating teams for their impressive performances and efforts during the North Central Zone qualifiers of the national 4×4 championship.

Sports247 reports that, while Ojih eulogised all the participating teams for their efforts and praised the quality of performances displayed throughout the championship, he particularly congratulated Benue Buffaloes for emerging winners.

The teamn fron Benue State emerged champions of the 4×4 Handball Championship North Central Zone qualifiers after defeating FCT 10-8 in an exciting final and picked a ticket to the national competition scheduled to hold in September.

The Makurdi-based team won all their four matches to top the log with eight points, while FCT placed second with six points, Suleja Academy finished third, with Texas Warriors fourth and Liberation Academy ended in fifth position.

Cash prizes and medals were presented to the top three teams, while individual awards were also handed out to the tournament’s most valuable player, highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper in recognition of their outstanding performances.

Ojih said the competition reflected the handball federation’s continued efforts and commitment towards developing the game further across the country, while also working to create more opportunities for young athletes to showcase their talents.

“The North Central Championship again demonstrated the immense talent we have within our handball community. I congratulate Benue Buffaloes for earning their place and commend all the teams for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit.

“The 4×4 format continues to grow and attract interest across the country. Our goal is to use competitions like this to deepen grassroots development, discover new talents and strengthen the future of Nigerian handball,” Ojih affirmed.
