Former Ghana international and African football icon Asamoah Gyan has showered glowing praise on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, expressing surprise that Europe’s biggest clubs are yet to secure the Nigerian star’s signature.
Speaking on Osimhen’s qualities, Gyan highlighted the Napoli forward’s relentless mentality and passion for goals, describing him as a striker every top team should be chasing.
“Osimhen loves to score goals. He plays with heart, gives everything for his team, and shows that he is hungry for success,” Gyan said.
“I’m surprised that a European big club hasn’t wanted him yet and that he hasn’t transferred to one of Europe’s leading clubs.”
The former Sunderland and Al Ain striker went further by openly linking Osimhen with a potential move to the English Premier League, singling out Manchester United as an ideal destination.
“I like this type of striker,” Gyan added.
“I’m surprised that big clubs haven’t been working to sign him in this transfer window. But I hope Manchester United are interested in him. I wish he would want to come.”
Osimhen, who has established himself as one of the most lethal forwards in world football with his physicality, pace, and eye for goal, continues to attract admiration across the continent.
Gyan’s comments are likely to fuel further speculation around the Nigerian international’s future, especially as top European clubs assess attacking reinforcements.
For Manchester United and other elite sides, the endorsement from one of Africa’s greatest strikers adds weight to the growing calls for decisive action in the race for Victor Osimhen’s signature.
