A new entrant into Nigeria’s football development landscape, Green Atlas Sports Academy, has appointed former Remo Stars coach, Shola Ibrahim Adewuyi, as the head of its technical crew — marking a decisive step in the academy’s mission to discover and nurture the next generation of football talent across the country.
Adewuyi’s appointment was officially unveiled at a modest media event held on today in Abuja, attended by the academy’s management team led by its chairman, Ambassador Adebisi Moses.

Speaking at the unveiling, Amb. Moses said the establishment of Green Atlas Sports Academy was borne out of a passion to harness Nigeria’s abundant football potential and provide a structured platform for young players to reach elite levels.
“Nigeria is blessed with millions of young, talented footballers,” Amb. Moses said. “The main focus of Green Atlas is to create a veritable platform to develop these players into the new versions of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. We believe Coach Shola Adewuyi has the pedigree to turn that vision into reality.”
The chairman described Adewuyi as a seasoned tactician with vast experience from his stints with Remo Stars, Kada Stars, and Akwa United, noting that his track record in youth football made him the ideal candidate to lead the academy’s technical direction.
“We have no doubt that his appointment will strengthen our mission,” Moses added. “Our searchlight will beam into remote areas across Nigeria to identify and groom raw talent.”
In his remarks, Coach Adewuyi expressed gratitude to the academy’s management for the confidence reposed in him and promised to justify their trust by building a team that reflects professionalism, discipline, and technical excellence.
“I want to thank Green Atlas Sports Academy for this opportunity,” Adewuyi said. “We will groom young players who can make the academy a model of positive football development and a source of pride for Nigerian football.”
With the appointment, Green Atlas Sports Academy signals its readiness to establish itself as a hub for grassroots football excellence, focusing on youth development, technical education, and talent export in line with global football standards.
