Gombe United have suspended their Technical Adviser, Abdullahi Tyabo Umar, indefinitely following the club’s underwhelming start to the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The Savannah Scorpions have managed just seven points from their opening six matches and currently sit sixth out of eight teams in Conference D of the NNL26, a position the club’s hierarchy considers below expectations.

In response to the poor run of results, the management has moved swiftly to restructure the technical crew. Haruna Abdullahi, popularly known as Alanpasay, has been appointed as Interim Technical Adviser, while experienced tactician Sulaiman Ahmad Kalala has been named the new Chief Coach.
As part of the overhaul, Gombe United have also terminated the contracts of eight players who were adjudged surplus to requirements, signalling a clear intent by the club to revive its campaign and push for improved performances in the remainder of the season.
The changes underline Gombe United’s ambition to return to winning ways and remain competitive in Conference D, as the club looks to stabilise results and restore confidence ahead of upcoming fixtures.
