Getting A Professional Coaching Job Outside Nigeria Is A Dream Come True’ – Abdulfatai Abdulwahab Euphoria Over Jeunesse Athletique De Ketou FC Appointment

Coach Abdulfatai Abdulwahab has been appointed as the head coach of Benin Republic outfit, Jeunesse Athletique De Ketou FC, admitting that it’s a dream come true.

The Nigeria descent tactician who has coached several grassroots clubs including Imperial FC to mention a few has participated in various leagues and tournaments before his move will be hoping to bring his wealth of experience and exposure in order to achieve the core objectives for the premiership side, Sports247.ng gathered.

Speaking after his appointment, Abdulfatai who is popularly hailed as ‘Agility’ couldn’t contain his excitement about his new job.

“Getting a professional job outside the country is a dream come through. I have to say a big thank to Almighty.”

“Although, I knew it will happen but I never expected it so soon. That is God for us, from grassroots to that level is something that doesn’t happen always. I think am just favoured by Almighty, I have no option than to embrace the blessings of Allah,” Abdulfatai Abdulwahab allayed.

“With the support of Allah and everyone in Nigeria. I believe I will make my country proud and fly the flag in better way,” he assured.

Abdulfatai is a graduate of the Football Association of Wales having ventured into coaching shortly after his playing days with LSDPC FC of Nigeria, a brief spell with Eleven Arrows FC in Namibia, Blue Water Sport Club also in Namibia before his eventual move to Southampton FC in South Africa where he also served as an assistant coach between 2010-2012.

Incredibly, he led Imperial FC to an outstanding campaign in the NLO Division 2 in 2019 and was the assistant coach when Oluyole UTD FC in Ibadan finished as runner up in NLO Division 2 in 2017.

Jeunesse Athlétique du Cotonou is a football club in Benin, playing in the town of Cotonou. They play in the Beninese first division, the Benin Premier League.

The club were previously known as Jeunesse Athlétique du Plateau and played in Pobè, a city in the Plateau Department of Benin, currently the team plays at the 5,000 capacity Stade Jean-Pierre Gascon.
