Gateway United proceed on break

Gateway United of Ogun State have embarked on a month break in line with the directive of the Nigeria Football Federation that all football activities be shut down promptly.

The break takes effect from Friday 20th March, 2020 and ends on 23rd April, 2020 with arrival to camp on Friday 24th April, while training is expected to resume on Monday 27th April.

According to the management of Gateway United led by the Acting General Manager Mr Niyi Soleye, the break became necessary with the directive of the NFF and as part of the measures to contain the virus and stop its spread.

Meanwhile, the team doctor Reuben Ogunyeye educated the players on some preventive measures and fitness techniques while in their private homes.

Earlier, a press release issued by the Country’s football governing body NNF on Wednesday 18th March, 2020 states:

“The Nigeria Football Federation has announced the cessation of all forms of football activities in the country for the next four weeks, as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic.

President of the NFF, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick said the cessation will be for four weeks after which the situation will be reviewed in line with events and trends worldwide.
