In a heartwarming display of patriotism and sportsmanship, Ahmed Shuaibu Gara-Gombe, Chief Executive Officer of Green White Green Sports Center Limited, has extended a personal gesture of support to Team Nigeria at the ongoing ITTF-Africa Championships in Tunis, Tunisia.
Gara-Gombe, who visited the Nigerian contingent at the Rades Multi-Sports Complex, treated the athletes and officials to a special dinner — a move aimed at boosting team spirit and motivation as they battle for continental glory.

Speaking after the event, Gara-Gombe said his gesture was driven by a deep sense of national pride and a desire to see Nigeria excel in all spheres of sport.
“As a proud Nigerian, I’m deeply invested in the success of our teams across all sports. These young men and women are flying the national flag with so much pride, and they deserve our support. I just wanted to lift their spirits and remind them that Nigerians everywhere are cheering them on,” he said.
He praised the team’s discipline and composure under the leadership of legendary player and coach Segun Toriola, describing their attitude as exemplary.
President of ITTF Africa, Wahid Enitan Oshodi, lauded Gara-Gombe’s kind gesture, calling it a timely morale booster for the players.
“We sincerely thank Mr. Gara-Gombe for taking the time to visit the team and cheer them on. His act of generosity is inspiring and speaks volumes about his commitment to sports development. He’s a true friend of table tennis,” Oshodi remarked.
The Nigerian team, currently competing in multiple categories at the championship, is eyeing podium finishes as they continue to receive widespread praise for their determination and unity in Tunis.
Gara-Gombe’s act underscores the vital role of private sector support in driving sports excellence — proving once again that motivation off the field can be just as powerful as performance on it.
