This comes after Soname graciously accepted the proposal and recommended it to Bet9ja Foundation, whose executive director, Gloria Ada Cuomo, and marketing manager, Omotola Oronti, embraced the vision of the Ex-Internationals Cup.
Liameed excitedly revealed that Bet9ja Foundation has allocated ₦40m in support of the competition, which he said further acknowledges it as a strong platform in efforts towards honouring Nigeria’s football icons while motivating future stars.
He further asserted that Bet9ja’s enhanced support for the second edition of the iconic competition, which was won last year by FC Nwosu, will provide a more extensive experience for players, coaches, officials, fans and stakeholders.
Liameed added: “We are thankful for the tremendous support from Bet9ja Foundation and the personal interest demonstrated by Honorable Kunle Soname, an icon and a tremendous blessing to Nigerian football.
“His numerous interventions continue to speak directly to youth empowerment and creation of sustainable opportunities. This partnership provides us with the chance to honor our legends. It also helps us utilize their stories to inspire young talents.”
