The Flying Eagles of Nigeria got off to a perfect start in their 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Tunisia at the Cairo International Stadium.

The decisive moment came in the first half when Auwal Ibrahim finished brilliantly in the 37th minute after a well-timed pass from Odinaka Okoro. Ibrahim made no mistake, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner to give Nigeria the lead.
In the second half, both sides played with caution, with Tunisia pushing for an equalizer and Nigeria looking to maintain their advantage.
The Flying Eagles still managed to create some promising chances on the break, but could not extend their lead. Defensively, they remained solid, frustrating Tunisia and seeing out the result.
