The Members and Executives of Football Fans Club of Nigeria, FFCN, on Wednesday troop out in Large number to embark on a massive roadshow to create awareness and support for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they set to take part in the 33rd edition of AFCON, billed to take place in Cameroon.
The roadshow which began with the unveiling of their new kits in Lagos declaring support for the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the next African Cup of Nations attracted millions of sports-loving Nigerians being the first Supporters Club that would evolve such electrifying creativity in the most populous Black nation
The well-attended unveiling which was described as iconic took place at Owu’s office and it was followed by a massive roadshow that started from Owu’s office to Ojuelegba. Later, the members proceeded to Barracks with members of the band team entertained fans with their usual melodic and musical ambiance that rented the atmosphere. This helped a great deal in creating awareness for the Super Eagles as they landed in Cameroon on Wednesday night for the Nations Cup
The CAF Award-winning Matriarch, Ambassador Ogunfuwa while unveiling the jersey disclosed that mobilizing support for the Super Eagles ahead of every competition, particularly AFCON is part of their visions, aims at lifting the 4th title for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Speaking to journalists, the members of the Women Football Committee of Lagos State FA stated that; “We are ready for AFCON, and by this weekend, our members across the 36 state chapters of Nigeria will set out for Cameroon to support our darling Super Eagles. By tradition and great rich of football history in Nigeria, we are known to be the proverbial 12th player on the pitch for our national teams with the sole aim of winning every single match”.
Appreciating the kitting brand, the graduate of the University of Lagos, UNILAG said “I appreciate OWU Company for being there for us, they have been producing our kits for years and they have come up with a fantastic design which a lot of people have reached out to wear for this AFCON. In fact, it is a uniquely beautiful jersey with lots of accolades on social media on every nook and cranny of the sports arena. Looking at the jersey, you don’t need to ask the country you belong to before knowing it’s Nigeria on parade and this will surely spur Eagles to victory”.
“Let me use this medium to state that it’s important to inform our fans that the Jerseys are available but interested persons need to register with us and become members before it could be handed over to them. FFCN is a very organized supporters club with leadership structures cut across Nigeria and would not just be littering its identity to nonmembers, therefore, it’s for the registered members and those that give us support in one way or the other” The Lagos based business mogul noted.
Earlier, the President of the indigenous Sports kits brand, Barrister Tunji Brown disclosed that the jersey portrayed the true essence of the Super Eagles and other national teams
In his words, “The design is to portray the name that Super Eagles wear which is exactly what we did and it portrays the true essence of the team, this away jersey portray what they have before.
He added that Supers Eagles is going to Cameroon to lift her Fourth AFCON trophy adding that Nigeria goes to all competitions with aim of winning.
“Nigeria doesn’t go to competition without the aim of winning, the last time we came third and I’m sure they are going for a win this time around except nothing less from them this time around,” he said.
Nigeria’s first game is against Egypt on Tuesday in Garuwa.
