Akwa Ibom based semi-pro side FC One Rocket is expected to make a debut in the Nigeria National League side from the next football league season in the Nigeria.

The former semi-pro league side which is currently on indefinite break due to the COVID-19 pandemic made an official announcement on July 12 2020 via its official social media platforms.

In an interview with a club official, “FC One Rocket has successfully secured a slot at the Nigerian National League (NNL) which is the second division and the second tier in the Nigeria football league system. Upon agreement, we successfully swapped spaces with Collins Edwin Soccer club in Lagos and we can say with all certainty that all parties are satisfied”.

FC One Rocket were to feature in the NLO in the just cancelled campaign.

The club owned by Hon. Essien Nse is the third professional league club from Akwa Ibom State playing the NNL. Since inception, the club has a had a couple of promotions from amateur side to pro.

Two teams from the State Vandrezzer Football Club and IbomYouth FC are currently in the NNL. With the addition of One Rocket FC to the fray, football fans in Akwa Ibom will hope at least one of the three clubs will make it to the NPFL by the end of next season, to complement Akwa United FC and Dakkada FC.
