Fathia Owoyele Won Three Silver Medals at the 9th National Youth Games

Oyo State U-15 weightlifting athlete, Fathia Owoyele Toluwalase, has won three silver medals at the ongoing 9th National Youth Games tagged “Asaba 2025”, competing in the 48kg female category.

Fathia has established herself as one of Nigeria’s most promising young lifters, having won three gold medals at the 2024 National Youth Games also held in Asaba.

She was later invited to the Gateway Games – Ogun 2024 National Sports Festival as one of the Invited Junior Athletes (IJA). In the 45kg class, she secured two gold and one silver medal for the IJA team while she narrowly missed a podium finish in the 49kg class finishing 4th.

In Asaba 2025, she came up against Edo State’s Esther Amarachi Chijioke, who proved dominant, winning all three gold medals in the snatch, clean & jerk, and total.
