This was revealed by the team’s coach, Moses Aduku, who stated his delight with how the players have adjusted to conditions in Abeokuta, where they hurriedly moved on Friday due to a change in the venue.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the change on Friday due to the poor state of the pitch at Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, where the match was initially billed to take place.
Aduku added that everyone in the team’s camp, including the backroom staff and technical crew, are ready to go, but further disclosed that they need prayers from Nigerians to boost their confidence.
The former youth international affirmed, “If I’m not confident, I would not be here with the team. So, I’m confident that these girls will do us proud.
“We trust God to help us, and I’m happy that we have settled down to step up our preparation. Everything will be alright.”
Aduku concluded with a look at the physical and psychological levels of his players, which he said are both good enough to fetch them victory next Saturday at MKO Abiola Stadium in the Ogun State capital.
“Everyone of them is in good shape. We started the build-up in Abuja, and everybody is ready to play here. We are good to go.
“Nigerians should just pray for us, and we will make them proud,” pledged Aduku, whose team defeated Rwanda in the previous round of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
