Nigeria’s latest men’s 400m sensation, Ezekiel Nathaniel has disclosed that he really felt on top of the world and enjoyed an amazing atmosphere, after winning last weekend’s Diamond League race in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Sports247 reports that, although all events on the day had to be undertaken by all the competitors in torrential rain, Nathaniel declared that it did not take any pleasure away from his day of fun, as he beat many top rated athletes in his event.

“It’s amazing to actually come out here and do what I love to do. Running under this condition is quite bad, but it gives you the opportunity to give your best effort. So, I’m grateful and happy that I was able to execute the race and finish it,” Nathaniel stated gleefully.
He, however, went on to admit that he would have loved to get a better winning time than the 48.08s in which he got to the tape ahead of all others, but conceded that it was still his best time so far this season.
He added, “Actually, it did not go properly the way I I wanted it, but this is the first time in the year that I’m running 48 seconds.
“I won’t say I’m proud of it but, at the same time, I’m grateful. I mean, it’s really cool coming out here to compete with big professionals on the track. It’s amazing.”
Nathaniel concluded by confessing that it was a whole new experience for him, and declared that it was the first time he would have so much fun on the track.
“The setup is quite good and, Jesus Christ, everything is amazing. I’ve not had this feeling before. I really feel cool,” revealed Nigeria’s latest fast-rising quarter-miler.
