Orhuwhorun United are the champions of the first edition of the Ezekiel Foundation Udu Kingdom Peace Cup.
They defeated hard fighting Aladja United 1-0 in the final match played on Sunday at Aladja Primary School Sports Ground.
The tournament sponsor Hon Ezekiel Ufuoma thanked the LOC of the championship for putting in the best tournament for the Udu Kingdom.
“Am very happy with what I saw today (Sunday) in the final of the tournament and I promise to do more next year,” Ezekiel Ufuoma said.
“My aim is to get the youths of Udu out of the streets and discover them for the future.
“Players selected here are going to South Africa to trial with some clubs.
“As you are aware this is the first edition you can see the turn out for the final, it shows how our people here in Udu love Football and Sports.
“Am doing this because Udu is a Kingdom that is not close to the city where scouts can easily come to discover talented player. With this type of tournament every year more players will be discovered.
“I must also thank His Royal Highness The Ovie of Udu Kingdom for coming for the final and also the Chairman of Udu local government Hon Jite Brown.
