Excellent FC of Ughelli secured their 3rd round place in the 2022 DFA Cup courtesy of a 4-2 penalty shootout triumph over Mickey FC.
Excellent FC appeared to be heading towards elimination as they trailed by a goal until the final moments of the encounter before Andrew Odjomah provider ensured Alex Marvel drew level (1-1) on the dot of 90 minutes.
It was a pulsating 2nd round match at the Kwele township stadium. In all, there were nearly 20 efforts on goal, neither team made the breakthrough for the match winner before a shootout was required. It finished 4-2 to Excellent FC, with Oguori Nero.scoring the winning spot kick.
Excellent FC will now switch attention to the Nationwide League One and will confront Kolu-Ama FC on Friday June 3 in a rescheduled Week 8 fixture at the Ughelli township stadium. Kickoff is at 12 noon
